About
Welcome to Pathways
Pathways serves students in junior and senior high who present with complex and diverse behavioural and social emotional learning needs. Pathways is universally recognized as a collaborative learning community that accepts diversity, fosters hope and promotes academic success and social emotional wellness for all students through personalized learning.
Program Objectives
• develop and demonstrate positive social and emotional skills in five core areas: self awareness, self management, social awareness, relationship skills and responsible decision making • continued academic growth; students are either working toward their high school diploma or knowledge and employability certificate of achievement • develop employment and independent living skills by building resilient and empowered active citizens through connections to a variety of community supports • gain the necessary skills to be successful in an inclusive setting and to transition back to their community school if they choose
Alternative programs deliver an educational alternative for students who, due to individual circumstances, find that the traditional school setting does not meet their needs. Alternative programs allow students to access resources that improve their ability to succeed academically and socially. A flexible approach is taken to teaching and learning in recognition of individual student needs.
